Tabled
Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Tabled.
Effective 5 September 2026
The short version
- Be decent to the people you play with.
- Only upload rulebooks you have the right to share.
- The AI Rules Assistant gets things wrong. The official rulebook always wins.
- Tabled is a small, free, independently run app, provided as it is, with no guarantees.
- Singapore law applies.
This summary is for orientation only — the sections below are the terms that actually apply.
1. This agreement
Tabled is a board game night companion app operated by an individual developer based in Singapore (we, us, our). By creating an account or using Tabled, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Tabled.
2. Who can use Tabled
- You must be at least 13 years old.
- If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must review and agree to these Terms on your behalf.
- You must not use Tabled if applicable law bars you from doing so, or if we have previously terminated your account.
3. Your account
- Keep your password and sign-in credentials secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep it current.
- Tell us at moosedevapps@gmail.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
- One account per person. Do not impersonate anyone or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or organisation.
4. Acceptable use
When using Tabled, do not:
- Post anything unlawful, harassing, hateful, threatening, defamatory, sexually explicit, or that promotes violence or self-harm.
- Harass, bully or stalk other users, or share someone’s personal information without their consent.
- Upload or share content you do not have the rights to.
- Attempt to break, overload, scrape, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to Tabled, its accounts, or the systems of its service providers.
- Use bots or automated means to interact with the service, other than standard search engine indexing.
- Use Tabled to send spam, chain messages or unsolicited advertising.
- Use the AI Rules Assistant to produce unlawful, harmful or deliberately deceptive content.
- Work around visibility settings to reach content that has not been shared with you.
We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend accounts that breach this section.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you post to Tabled — your shelf, events, messages, scores, ratings, uploads and profile details.
By posting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for example, resizing an image or extracting text from a PDF) and display that content, solely in order to operate and improve Tabled and to show it to the people you have shared it with. This licence lasts as long as we host your content and ends a reasonable time after you delete it — except that content you contributed to a shared event, such as chat messages, scores and ratings, may remain visible to the other participants as part of that event’s record.
You are responsible for the content you post, and you confirm that you have the rights necessary to post it. We do not pre-screen content, but we may remove anything that breaches these Terms.
6. Rulebooks and copyright
Tabled lets users upload rulebook PDFs so the Rules Assistant can answer questions from them. Rulebooks are copyrighted works belonging to their publishers.
By uploading a rulebook, you confirm that at least one of the following is true:
- You own the copyright in it.
- You have the copyright owner’s permission to upload it.
- The publisher distributes that rulebook freely and publicly for the game in question.
Uploads are reviewed by an administrator before they become available in the app. That review is a practical check, not a legal clearance, and it does not transfer any rights to you or to us. Do not upload scans of material a publisher does not distribute freely, or anything from behind a paywall.
Copyright complaints
If you are a rights holder and believe material on Tabled infringes your copyright, email moosedevapps@gmail.com with: identification of the work, where to find the material in Tabled, your contact details, a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised, and a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are authorised to act for the rights holder. We will remove or disable access to infringing material promptly, and we may terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.
7. The AI Rules Assistant
The Rules Assistant uses a third-party large language model to answer rules questions, sometimes drawing on excerpts from uploaded rulebooks.
- Answers may be incomplete, outdated or simply wrong — including when they cite a page number and quote a passage.
- The official rulebook and the publisher’s own rulings always take precedence over anything the assistant says.
- Answers are not legal, professional or official advice, and are not endorsed by any publisher or designer.
- Your question and the relevant excerpts are sent to our AI provider. Do not include personal or confidential information.
Treat the Rules Assistant as a helpful shortcut, not an authority. Settle real disputes with the rulebook.
8. Game data and third-party content
Game titles, descriptions, images, ratings and rankings are sourced from BoardGameGeek’s API and remain the property of BoardGameGeek and the respective rights holders, used subject to BoardGameGeek’s terms.
Tabled is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by BoardGameGeek, or by any board game publisher or designer. All trademarks and game names belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify the games they refer to.
9. Events, meetups and other users
Tabled helps you organise game nights. What happens at one is between you and the people you play with.
- We do not verify users’ identities and we do not vet the people you meet through the app.
- We are not a party to your plans, and we are not responsible for anything that happens at an event, whether online or in person.
- Use good judgement when sharing a location or home address, and when meeting people you do not already know.
- Only add a guest, or share another person’s details, if you are entitled to do so.
If someone behaves badly, you can remove them from your events and report them to us at moosedevapps@gmail.com. If you feel unsafe, contact your local authorities.
10. Visibility settings
Some features are public or shared by default, as described on screen. You are responsible for checking the visibility setting on an event or availability entry before adding anything you would rather keep private. Once you have shared something with other people, we cannot recall it from them.
11. Changes to the service
Tabled is under active development and provided free of charge. We may add, change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time, and we may set limits on storage, uploads or AI usage. Where it is practical to do so, we will give reasonable notice before discontinuing the service entirely.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Tabled at any time, and can ask us to delete your account by emailing moosedevapps@gmail.com.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the service. Provisions that by their nature should survive — including the licence covering content already shared into events, the disclaimers, the limitation of liability, the indemnity and the governing law — survive termination.
13. Disclaimers
Tabled is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted and error-free operation.
We do not warrant that the AI Rules Assistant, the game catalogue, recorded scores, or any other content in Tabled is accurate or complete.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under mandatory consumer protection law.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill or opportunity arising out of or relating to your use of Tabled, even if we have been advised that such damages are possible.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to Tabled is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose — which, for a free service, is likely to be zero — and SGD 100.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
15. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses and reasonable costs, including legal fees, arising out of content you post, rulebooks you upload, your use of Tabled, or your breach of these Terms — except to the extent they result from our own wrongdoing.
16. Apple App Store and Google Play
If you obtained Tabled through the Apple App Store or Google Play:
- These Terms are between you and us only, not with Apple or Google.
- Apple and Google have no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any. Apple has no other warranty obligation.
- We, and not Apple or Google, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability, legal compliance and consumer protection claims.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo, and are not on any US Government prohibited-parties list.
- You must also comply with the app store’s own terms of service.
17. General
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding Tabled. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer these Terms; we may transfer them to a successor operator of the service.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as Tabled changes. The effective date at the top shows when they were last updated. We will give notice in the app or by email before material changes take effect. Continuing to use Tabled after that means you accept the updated Terms.
19. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. You and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you may also be entitled to bring proceedings in your country of residence, and nothing here removes the mandatory protections of your local law.
Before starting any formal dispute, please email moosedevapps@gmail.com — most things are easier to sort out directly.
